Good afternoon friends,
Still trying to catch up. This is for the yesterday's reading (12/10). Just a short comment on the "Why" of the ceremonial clean laws.
Blessings,
Jeff
The details of how various bodily functions make someone unclean are a mystery to me. But God clearly states the why. Lest they die by defiling the tabernacle that is in their midst. God is the author of life. He is the potter, we are the clay. Israel didn't get to argue about such things or come up with their own own rules. Everything God appoints in His Word is to be obeyed. James makes this argument that failing at one point of the law makes one accountable for the whole law. As Paul says in Romans 5:20-21 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. No one is justified by keeping the law because no one can keep the whole law.
